Changes in consumer tastes
Another weakness that Disney must consider is the ever-changing tastes of consumers. All divisions of the Company are highly susceptible to popular culture and current trends/fads, and sudden changes in what is popular or “trendy” can greatly affect the Company’s profitability. While current Disney productions such as "Hannah Montana" and the "High School Musical" franchise are enjoying enormous popularity today, they may soon lose their customer base to newer crazes or popular trends.

While careful monitoring of what is popular with a product’s target audience is critical, the extended timeline required to create a new theme park attraction or merchandise based upon an upcoming motion picture release can delay the Company’s ability to quickly react and adapt to sudden pop culture changes. When a product or merchandise does prove to be popular, the Company also risks backlash from overexposure or market saturation, which can also shorten the length of time of popularity. - (edit / improve)
