Ratings Issues
Consideration attention is given to the failure of ratings agencies to give accurate ratings in the market for mortgage-backed securities. Those failures led many investors to believe the ratings on this issues were in better condition than they should have been. Investors lost money and many sue S&P. Additionally, more government regulation of the industry might hurt earnings and cash flow. - (edit / improve)
