Together tin and lead are alloyed to make pewter and solder. Crystalline tin-niobium is an alloy that is superconductive at a very low heat and is used in the construction of superconductive magnets. Tin is found mostly in cassiterite which can be found in Malaya, Bolivia, Indonesia, Zaire, Thailand, and Nigeria. These places supply most of the worlds tin. Update
