PetroChina is a subsidiary of China National Petroleum. The company has 3 major segments: Exploration and Production of crude oil and natural gas; Refining and Marketing of crude for distribution and sales as consumable products; and finally, the Chemicals and Marketing arm that produces and markets a wide array of basic petrochemical and derivative products. The company has a vast production infrastructure boasting thousands of miles of pipelines. it also oversees vast reserves of crude oil and natural gas. Although this massive conglomerate primarily services its own nation; it has helps boost the economy by offering a fraction of the reserve on the world market.
